Not feeling the love yet...

I ran the script and got a blank browser screen after, then figured out I needed to update to php5 (FastCGI?). Did that and ran the script again and got the "Uh oh" message. Any advice? How do I start over if it won't let me?

I'm also wondering if I'm supposed to run it in my wordpress directory, or just at the root of the site.

Much thanks!

Hi footfoot,

I'd set PHP5 as regular CGI in Panel.

Check your HOME directory for a file called .gui.lock and delete it, then retry.

You can run the custom INI installer from any browsable location within the domain.

Re: Not feeling the love yet...

Hey,

I also got a blank browser screen and it didn't create a cgi-bin.

I deleted cgi.lock and ran it again to no avail-- same results.

But I don't understand what you mean by this:

I'd set PHP5 as regular CGI in Panel.

Are you talking about the DreamHost panel?  Where is that setting?

Hi Liz!

Panel > Domains > Manage Domains

Click Edit next to the domain

You can set the PHP Mode under the label Web Options

If you're online right now I'd be happy to take a look at what the problem might be before you make any changes within Panel.

You can email me here.

Re: Not feeling the love yet...

Actually, I was able to work around the php.ini file.  I'd like to put off having to touch the php.ini file for as long as possible!  I may be back...
